Therapy Dog

This course is for people who are interested in becoming a working team in the area of visitation and/or assisted activities. These visitation/activities include, but are not limited to, visits to hospitals, special needs centers, counseling facility and/or services, schools, reading-to-dog programs, retirement/nursing homes, fun dog shows, and more. Our objective is to provide you with the skills necessary to safely share your therapy dog with others, bringing happiness and cheer into their lives, young and old alike. Mixed or purebreds are welcomed! Locations will vary due to hands on experience during the course of this training.

Class Requirements
Each dog must have completed one, preferably two of our basic pet manners classes in order to enroll in this course or tested out with the equivalent private lessons with one of our trainers. Tasty treats and a willingness to spend a few minutes each day with your puppy or dog. Do NOT purchase any new equipment prior to the first night of class, we will offer equipment recommendations based on our experience of what works best.
